Reading back over my own Work is such a strange feeling these days. It feels like I’m reading about someone else’s struggles, insecurities, addiction. It helps me remember that everyone has scars; I’m simply better at hiding mine than most. Ultimately, you have to decide what type of person you want to be.
Anticipation grows as I wait for my Book Review by Kirkus Reviews which is Scheduled to be Released around the beginning of February. I’ve always hesitated beginning the conversation around this book because it’s painful, embarrassing, and something I tend not to dwell on.
However, I continue to see people struggling with… whether it’s Pornography (as it was for me) or alcohol or drugs, etc. I want them to understand that you don’t have to stay where you are. You still have the ability to make a Choice. You still have to ability to choose a better Path.
How? Well, I feel like God wants me to share the Story of my Journey even if I’m not enthusiastic about sharing it. In the book, there are good moments, terrible moments, and everything in-between along with questions specifically young men may have coming into adulthood.
I found that writing down all of the emotions and questions became a positive outlet. I didn’t have to carry them around or bury them inside and pretend like they’re not there.
